The Simpsons (1989)

S16E16 Don't Fear the Roofer

When a severe storm strikes Springfield, the Simpson family's roof develops a leak. Marge confronts Homer, questioning what kind of father can't provide shelter for his family. In an attempt to make things right, Homer attempts a repair but ends up falling through the roof. Frustrated by feeling unwanted, he forms a friendship with a roofer, though nobody else can see this new companion. Homer's insistence on the roofer's existence leads everyone to believe he has lost his mind.
