Anne of Green Gables (1985)

S1E1 Anne of Green Gables (1)

Anne of Green Gables tells the story of Anne Shirley, an orphan navigating her way from childhood into her teenage years. Set in early 20th-century Prince Edward Island, siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert realize they need assistance on their Green Gables farm and plan to adopt a boy. However, a mix-up leads to the arrival of a spirited girl instead. Anne’s vibrant personality contrasts sharply with Marilla’s more reserved nature. Initially intending to return Anne, Marilla ultimately decides to give her a chance. It doesn’t take long for Anne to win Marilla over, transforming their lives for the better.
