In a world after the apocalypse ruled by the "Numbers," every person is marked with a Count—a number tied to their life, whether it's steps taken or praise received. If it hits zero, they're doomed. In the 305th year of the Alcian calendar, Hina takes up her mother's dying quest, whose Count fell to zero, to find the fabled Red Baron. Along the way, she encounters Licht, a half-masked swordsman hiding his identity, notorious as a outcast because his Count is dangerously low.
