River Hunters (2019)
S1E1 Stirling - First War of Scottish Independence
In the series premiere, Rick and Beau embark on an adventure along the River Forth, right beneath the imposing Stirling Castle. This marks the first archaeological river search at this location, as they seek out artifacts connected to Scotland's legendary medieval fighters, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, uncovering hidden stories from their famous battles against the English. Yet, the River Hunters stumble upon even more remarkable discoveries from earlier times, including a Bronze Age axe head and spear tip dating back to around 1000 AD. This leads the experts to speculate that the area near Cambuskenneth Abbey may have served as a pagan worship site.
